What's the best degree you can get in pastry and baking?

Where do I start....?

  • Well I want to get a job in culinary (mostly pastry and baking and stuff) but I don't know where to start I mean I don't even know what a Bachelor's degree is. My dream is to go to college and well just get better at it. Then I want to move to France once I raise enough money and start my own business and call it Chez Emilie :]]. I do take french so I know some of it. I am only a sophomore in high school so I have time to figure out my plan as to what I am going to do and what college I want to go to. I just don't know, I guess my question is what should I do first??

  • Answer:

good to hear you've got goals. you still have a while before you need to worry about your future, but to be safe, keep your GPA up in High School. (i F-d up my GPA my freshman and sophomore year, and later really regretted it) WHAT YOU SHOULD DO FIRST: research. couple of good websites i used when finding a college/university are here, you should log on, make a username etc... remember it though, you'll need the collegeboard for when you do the SATs www.theU.com www.collegeboard.com anyway a bachelor's degree is what you get after (typically) 4 years of college, e.g. "undergraduate" work, if you want to do "graduate" school, it'll be additional years after you choose a major. for your case i'd suggest a major in French as well. and if you want to start your own business, you will probably want an MBA, which is a Masters in Business.
