In california you can start working at 16 with a work permit and good grades. hope this helps

It depends what state you live in.

In the state of PA, the starting age of workers is 14 on a farm. From 14-16 you need a (farm) permet. Working after school untill 9pm and on weekend it is 7am-10pm with 2 1/2hour breaks From 16-18 you need a workers permit, after school upto 10 and from 7am- 12am on weekends. Depending on the state (Pa is five hours, Wv is six hours) for so many hours you are given a 1/2 break. And well, after 18 you can work as much and as hard as you want ( depending if work will give you more hours)

depends...in NY state you can do Summer Youth when you turn 14 but most stores won't hire you until you turn 16. For both you need working papers. But I know in Southern and western state stores hire at 15 so it all depends on the state and store.
