  Ever hear the saying don't do business with your friends? It's out there for a reason. Look for a partner who is an established business owner/partner, you want everything in contracts!!! I personally would buy out 51%(or highest portion) so all major desicions are for me. As for the arrangement you are proposing You'll need to discuss that w/ a business attorney and partner(s) again Contract Everything!!!! I am still young(26 next week) and didn't have the funds 4 years ago when I started out with 20%and in my arrangement every six months of doing the majority of the work( marketing/ bookkeeping) I was given another 5% till I got up to 49%. I sold my share to my partners relative and started my own partnership and bought 52%. As for your ideas patent and copyright them. http://www.uspto.gov/ or http://www.copyright.gov/title37/ Also I know most people recomend A limited liability company but there are ways to become a corporation for a low price look into it w/ your local S.B.A. LESS LIABILTIES = LESS STRESS + BETTER PARTNERSHIPS!
