Is Teen Magazine going out of business?

I want to start my own magazine publishing company. Any suggestions on how to get started?

  • Writing and journalism have been my passion my whole life. My degree is actually in journalism. I've just realized that this is REALLY it, but I know it is going to require a lot of work. As a magazine publisher, I get to report again and write my own stories. I know that magazine publishing is a complex business and it is also very risky, but it's my dream and I'm going to do it. I'd just love to get some advice from you guys on ways to get started.

    The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in. I would start with a outline of the company... i.e. plan out your income and expenses, what it would cost to start up the company, whether you have a clientele list established, will you be able to get a start up loan. There are many open questions that need to be answered before opening your own business. My suggestion would be to sit down with a financial analyst first.
