What will happen if lymphocytes are absent in w.b.c?

I have been having blood tests a few months apart wbc were normal til the last one.?

  • My WBC was within 2 times prior 8.8, this last time the wbc was 11.7 on the prior 2 lab results my neutrophils were elevated 79 & lymphocytes were low 15, this time it was not on the lab results I guess the dr. didn't order them all it said was wbc 11.7. My dr. never called I got my labs sent to me. I am always under a lot of stress, I have been having sinus issues for a couple weeks & I started taking a daily aspirin 6 months ago since the last labs. I keep reading about leukemia since I don't have the break down of the neutrophils & lymphocytes this time I don't know what is going on with them, but the lab tech said the wbc are all based on the different white blood cells, but it doesn't make sense that the wbc was normal with the neurtrophils & lymphocytes were off & this time the wbc is abnormal. Any help would be appreciated!

  • Answer:

A wbc of 11.7 is well within normal for most people and that is why the lab didn't flag your doctor. Many different things can affect the wbc results from day to day. I wouldn't worry unless they got over 20 but again that is up to your doctor to be interpreting for you, Good Luck.
