Can someone explain slingbox to me?

In English can someone explain it to me? Please?

  • upper gi endoscopy with biopsy, Cardia and Esophagus: A & B Adenocarcinoma my uncle's in the hospital and his doctor's isn't around but we got the biopsy results. But when we ask the nurses to explain what it is all about they can't, because the doctor incharge should be the one to explain it. We can't wait so I surfed the net about it and it says something about gastric and esophagus cancer..i read some of them but i really can't understand well. can someone explain it to me..pls..my uncle has difficulty swallowing and he always have low hemoglobin so everytime we take him in the hspital he always need blood transfusion.

  • Answer:

An Upper GI is a procedure in which a small camera is inserted into the esophagus and down into the stomach (the cardia is the top portion of the stomach.) During this procedure, samples of tissue are taken (biopsies), which are then examined microscopically for abnormal cellular growth. Adenocarcinoma is a type of cancer common in the GI system. It is treated locally with radiation and or surgery, as well as systemic chemotherapy in some (many?) cases. Before your uncle begins any treatment, the doctors will want to do more testing to determine the extent of the disease. If it has spread beyond the esophagus, they will probably not do surgery. What they will do is radiation therapy to shrink the tumor growth in his esophagus and then start chemotherapy. Hope this information helps. My thoughts will be with you and your family.

I agree with the nurses that the doctor in charge, or his primary care physician should be the one to explain it to you. As a health care provider that is what I would want for my patients. I would contact his primary care provider asap to get the explanation of the results. I could tell you what they mean, but over the computer, that would be asinine of me. I don't feel that it would be good medical ethics to explain the results of another physican's test, unless specifically asked to do so by that physcian. I'm am sure that the physician who performed the biopsy, has forwared those results to his pcp. Sorry that I can't give you an answer.

As hard as it will be - you really need to wait for your doctor to explain this to you. I did exactly the same thing when my mother was in hospital and my parents were keeping the results from me. I went on the internet and came to all the wrong conclusions. She has lung cancer but you really need to wait and speak to your doctor. Nurses are not qualified to give you that kind of information as if they get any detail wrong it would be a massive Professional Indemnity issue for the nurse and hospital. I hope it all goes well for you and it isnt bad. But please wait and talk to the doctor - as hard as the wait will be.

Sounds like it could be lung cancer.

The best thing to do is to wait for the doctor to explain your uncle's condition and treatment option's. The information in your question isn't nearly enough to give you any sort of meaningful answer and it would be foolish to second guess the primary care doctor about treatment.

YOU MY TOTORO?

It means he has esophageal cancer. He needs blood transfusions because the cancer is causing him to slowly bleed internally and makes him anemic. There is not enough information to know the extent of the disease and he will need more tests for the doctors to know.
