Why is this bad for the smoker's lung?

I go to a smokers house a few times a month. Will i get lung cancer?

  • i have t go to a smokers house a few times a month. It smells bad there and when i get home my clothes smell bad. 2 smokers live in the house. Will i get lung cancer from this? i do not live with a smoker. Will i get lung cancer?

  • Answer:

Most likely not. The left over smell is not an issue, it is the actual second hand smoke that can cause damage, but they are ususally talking about people who live with smokers or work daily in a smokey environment, like a bar.

If you don't go to this house and stay at home in a smoke free home and have several alcoholic drinks or eat junk foods and don't do exercise you have a better chance of getting lung cancer or if you drive a car you are breathing in the exhaust fumes that have higher cancer causing chemicals than smoking does or you could be breathing in the radon gases that rise from the ground and seep into your home. These are all high reasons for getting lung cancer but i am a smoker and over 50 years old and I do not have lung cancer, there is several different types of lung cancer and anyone could get any one of them. You could live there and be fine.
