The function of the Colon is to eliminate bodily waste and toxins in your body. The large intestine absorbs the remaining water from indigestible food matter, store this unusable food matter (wastes) and then eliminate the wastes from the body. They are basically the same thing only the colon is used a little later in the digestive process.
