there can be a pretty good educated guess, but the pathology report will give a definitive diagnosis as well as types, staging, etc.

Not really. My radiologist was convinced that my lump was benign... but it wasn't. Only the pathology report can give a definite diagnosis. That was 3 years ago, and after surgery, chemo, and radiation, and current treatment of Arimidex, so far-so good.
Not so looney afterall
