What can be the cause of my nose bleeds?

What cancers besides nose and leukemia cause nose bleeds?

  • Im doing research for a project and was wondering how many cancers contain nose bleeds as a part of the symptoms. I know that leukemia and nose cancer cause nose bleeds, but are there any others? Thanks in advance :)

  • Answer:

When nosebleeds are present in a person with leukemia, it is solely because the platelet count is very low (due to the platelets being crowded out by the leukemia cells.) Any cancer that involves the bone marrow has the potential to cause low platelets. I know a couple of children with neuroblastoma metastasized to the bone marrow who presented with low blood counts (platelets, hemoglobin, & white blood cells) and consquently, nosebleeds. But that is rare. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (present just behind the nose) can present with nosebleeds.

You need to do better research as there is no such thing as nose cancer. By themselves nose bleeds just mean there is dry skin in the nose. I am actually pretty good at my job. Just because cancer occurs in or on the nose does not make it “nose cancer” as I said there is no such thing. It could be melanoma which is skin cancer, lymphoma which is cancer of the lymph nodes, etc., etc. but not nose cancer.
