If breast cancer is cured, is all cancer cured?
-
And if cancer in general is cured, isnt breast cancer cured also? Sorry I know this is a stupid question but I dont get it. On the radio and tv and stuff I always here these advertisements and commercials for walks for breast cancer. Naturally ud believe that if all cancer is cured then breast cancer would go along with it. If breast cancer gets cured along with it, then why isnt the walk for cancer in general? I dont undestand why they would do a walk for breast cancer only when they could be curing all cancer instead of only breast. It really doesnt make sense, can someone explain please?

Answer:
Cancer is actually a group of around 200 different diseases. There are at least 6 different types of breast cacner, all with different stages and sub categories. Each of these will probably need a different cure, and often the cure will differ depending on the patient. Cnacer is a very complex disease.

No, if breast cancer was cured, not all cancers would be cured. There are many different kinds of cancer and they are not all the same. That is why the same treatment is not given for each. That's why there are many chemotherapy drugs, because no chemotherapy drug is effective against all kinds of cancer. Some cancers are not sensitive to chemotherapy or radiation therapy. This is also why a lot of progress has been made in treating some cancers (childhood acute lymphocytic leukemia, prostate cancer, testicular cancer just for example) and there has been little progress with others (i.e., pancreatic cancer, the brain tumors glioblastoma multiforme and DIPG). Researchers are working on targeted therapies - designed specifically to correct what is going wrong with the cells in particular types of cancers. Some targeted therapies are already in use.

well the only way breast cancer or any other cancer is found it can be cured only if it's found on time before it spreads to the organs, tissues well around the body. The cancer is only cured by doing surgery, taking out the tumor depending what type of cancer is it. If it's not a tumor and it's different type of cancer the abnormal cancer in other words the growth of not normal cells that forget how to die well doctors recommend to do radiation where doctors put you inside a machine that shrinks or kills the cancerous cells with gamma rays and its not painful. Another type of treatment is chemotherapy only using drugs or injections to kill the cancerous cells. They do walks to get founds or to get money to give them to people or hospitals who need the money and need help.

Yes, breast cancer (and many other cancers) can often be completely cured. Curing cancer requires either removing or killing all cancerous tissue in the body. For some cancers, this is straightforward. For others, it is extremely difficult. In general, a cancer that presents as a well-defined tumor can simply be removed, curing the disease. A cancer that spreads throughout the body and appears in all sorts of locations (metastases) may not be curable. The exact type of cancer and its stage of development when diagnosed determine whether or not and how easily it can be cured. Breast cancers that are found early can generally be cured without too much trouble. Cancers that are found late, after they've started to spread, may be very difficult or impossible to cure. Walks for cancer are mainly for purposes of public relations and fund-raising. They don't actually produce cures for cancer, although they may help fund research that can find cures.

Cancer is not just one disease and it affects each person differently. Sometimes it is genetic, sometimes it is caused by exposure to things in our environment, sometimes we just don't know why we get cancer and it will be a long time coming before a cure is found for all types of cancer.

breast cancer is not always curable and many women still die each year from it. There are charities for all types of cancer, but the breast cancer ones help fund research for that specific kind and charites like st. judes helps fund research for cancer in children.
