What sort of activities can cause a person to get leukemia?

Nothing can cause it, other than other cancer treatments, like radiation. there are no known risk factors for leukemia though.

Good answers above by "April, katiemac, and Louise." They are all correct. Why do you ask about "activities?" I'm sure you have a good reason. Certain chemicals such as benzene pose a leukemia risk. Smoking is thought to be related to some leukemias - and that is thought to be related to a number of carcinogenic chemicals in tobacco smoke. I suppose smoking might be considered an "activity." But many people develop leukemias without tobacco smoke exposure. As nurse "katiemac' says, there is no way to definitively prove the cause in any individual case. Radiation exposure is another risk, so work that involves radiation exposure - such as the brilliant early 1900's scientist Marie Curie working for years with radium - would be a risky activity. Living to an older age may be a factor in chronic lymphocytic leukemias.

No activities can cause a person to get leukemia. Leukemia is not something contagious...it's a type of cancer, no one knows how you get it.

Sometimes it pretty much runs in your blood. I am not sure how I got leukemia, but it is terrible.
