Breast cancer benefits ideas?

Looking for ideas to have a breast cancer awareness day at work in october-breast cancer awareness month?

  • Answer:

Get as much information in the form of pamphlets and brochures for the day. Also, you may want to have a video playing softly in the background that hilites the trials and tribulations of breast cancer survivors. Decorate the table with pink ribbons, and if possible, have pink ribbon pins for people to pick up (check your local hobby store for a good deal). On the table, have healthy treats for visitors. Pink apples would be fun! Be sure to promote your event well in advance so people can mark their calendars. What a wonderful way to spread awareness. Thank you, and good luck!!

Think pink day. Girls and guys can wear some clothing item that is pink. Set up a memorial table and have co-workers bring pictures or typed namecards of those who have passed or survivied breast cancer.

I'd suggest a Think Pink Day...go to www.komen.org and they can give you suggestions. Or if your company is not casual and you don't want to go all pink, you can have everyone donate $5 to wear jeans on a certain day. My sister's employer does this once every October. Then, the money is donated to Komen.

All leaflets of course with breast exam posters - local mammography centre may help. Have a stand and if possible a talk from an expert in the field and if anyone is willing people to talk and man the stand who have suffered from breast cancer. Serious but warm and friendly.
