  • Answer:

No, you don't have symptoms of breast cancer. There is no swelling with breast cancer, no redness to see, and pain is very rarely a sign of breast cancer. Nor are headaches a symptom of breast cancer, ever. Breast cancer almost always has no symptoms until it is quite advanced. In the extremely unlikely event of a teenager having breast cancer, it would not have had time to become advanced. The chances of breast cancer at 14 are statistically zero. If it happened, the case would make news internationally, and would be written up in medical journals the world over as it would be of HUGE interest to doctors - very few of the world's doctors have seen a breast cancer patient in her 20s, almost none has seen one in her teens. I don't know where you found pictures of breast cancer that you think look similar to what you have described, but really you should avoid looking up symptoms of anything on the internet - you'll always convince yourself you have it! Talk to your mother, she should be able to reassure you and can arrange for you to see a doctor about what is almost certainly a skin condition. And if you need more reassurance, see your school nurse; she will be used to girls having worries like this and will be able to reassure you that you DON'T have breast cancer. Stop worrying - you are at an age where breast cancer is unheard of and you don't have any symptoms of it.

Sounds more like some sort of infection, which needs to be checked out. Tell your parent/guardian and get to a doctor. I really don't think it's cancer but infections can become deadly. Don't wait any longer, pls. Once you start treatment you will be fine.

I can only guess you are referring to inflammatory breast cancer. This makes up about 1% of breast cancers. At ages 16 - 20 the risk of breast cancer is about 1 in 1 million, which would make the risk of IBC about 1 in 100million. At age 14 the risk is zero. If you are concerned, and it sounds like you are, then talk to a parent, guardian or school nurse who can arrange for you to see a Dr if this is warranted.

You're 14.... have you fully finished puberty? Most likely you are just experiencing symptoms of puberty. Even families who have high incidences of breast cancer do not usually get it until their 40's sometimes into their 30's. Have you changed soaps lately? Changed laundry detergent? Worn a different style of bra? I think it is probably more of an allergic reaction or possibly flu like.

Breast Cancer does not Hurt. It is found deep within the breast. That is not a sign of breast cancer. You sound like you are having an allergic reaction to something. Definetly not cancer. See your doctor.

Talk to your mom, or a significant female that is involved in your life. See what she thinks. Then call your doctor if she thinks there's a problem. Don't ever hesitate to call your doctor dear.

You should see a doctor just in case. Does your family have a history of breast cancer? You should definitely count that in as well

Tell your Mom, of course.
