How long does it take to get the Bone Marrow Biopsy results?

  • My daughter had a Bone Marrow Biopsy to see what type of Leukemia she has yesterday at 11:00am. We still haven't heard anything back though. I've heard of people getting the results that same afternoon! Does it take long because it's a more complex type of cancer? I can't take the wait anymore!!!

    It can take 45 minutes to a couple of days. Sometimes it is complex enough to send it to an outside pathologist. It may be because it is a weekend and the pathologist will not look at it until tomorrow.
