Where can I get info to race/walk for cancer?

Suggestions for books on cancer?

  • Basically, I have to write a research paper on cancer. I have to use AT LEAST one written source (a.k.a. not the internet) but I don't have any books on cancer, and I live in Poland (temporarily), so I can't just run to the library and get some info. I'm gonna have to buy the books. Which really sucks, in case anyone's wondering. Anyway, here are some of the things I need from the books: Discuss the structure of cancer at the cellular level. What happens to the cells that can trigger cancer to develop? How does cancer spread? What are some common cancer risk factors and what types of cancer could they lead to? Include three or more. Why are cancer-causing factors in lifestyle or the environment difficult to identify? How can people protect themselves from exposure to known risk factors? Research and report on current findings related to the benefits of exercise as a treatment for cancer. Discuss new innovations in technology that are currently being tried in an effort to treat and prevent cancer. Any book suggestions?!?!?! I really need help. Thanks guys

    The Oxford handbook of oncology is a decent reference on cancer, and outlines some of these factors. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Oxford-Handbook-Oncology-Handbooks/dp/0192630350 You can also access several scientific journals online (although you may have to pay to see the full article, the abstract is usually free, and there are several open-access journals which are entirely free). Although they are technically being viewed online, journals count as written sources, and are by far the most common and accepted source material for research papers.
