What are the advantages and disadvantages of posters?

Advantages and disadvantages of receiving chemotherapy through port or IV? ?

• What are the advantages of receiving chemotherapy through a port? And what are the disadvantages? Also if you don't get a port and you get your chemo through an IV, what are the advantages and disadvantages of getting chemo through an IV?

• Answer:

  I don't know everything about chemo, but I do have a port because I have CF and have to get IV antibiotics in the hospital for about 2-3 weeks every 3 months or so. I think ports are amazing because I hate needles and pain and even though a needle does go in the port it goes through the tiniest bit of skin that it barely hurts. Ports are also super easy, they don't have to try and find a vein and you don't get stuck a million times before they get it right. I think another disadvantage of IVs is that they ruin your veins, I had to get my first port when I was 6 years old because my veins were starting to become unusable from all the IV antibiotics (and chemo has strong antibiotics in it, that's one of the few things I know (lol)). But most of all, IVs are painful and ports aren't and they are just easy and awesome :)
