How to raise funds for charity?

What are the best ways to raise funds for a children's cancer, leukaemia and brain tumour charity?

• Just before Christmas I won the Vodafone World of Difference UK competition (East Midlands based). My aim is to raise 33,100 in 8 weeks of fundraising madness and this is the first time I have ever done anything as mad as this!!! I have lots of events that I have arranged over the spate of a few weeks and the funding is now beginning to creep up!! But I only have 5 weeks left of my placement and to reach the target I would like as many ideas as possible, to get the children the funding that they need.   Hi, May I first just take the opportunity to tell you I think what you're doing is absolutely wonderful, you deserve so much respect for raising money and awareness for such a worthy cause . Perhaps you could start a Facebook page , get some support, ask for people to help with donations or fundraising ideas. It seems to be the 'done' thing on Facebook, lots of people start their own charity page. And it helps spread your cause further a field, the more people that know about it, the better.
