World Health Organization confirms cell phones cause brain cancer. Why weren't we warned?

    My 47 yr old brother was diagnosed with a brain tumor in his left temporal lobe about a month ago. He immediately said he suspected his cell phone use was the cause. He is deaf in his right ear so uses his cell phone only on his left ear. He is in sales and logs hours per day on his cell phone. On the other hand, brain tumors have existed long before cell phones ever were invented. So the question becomes has the rate of brain tumors increased significantly since cell phone use has become so common, and do the statistics make a connection? I know one person who believes in the connection.

Get a grip. Being alive is fraught with danger; do you ever ride in or drive a car? Do you always (or perhaps NEVER) wear a crash helmet when you do so? You are at infinitely higher risk of death or brain injury from traveling in a car without a helmet than you are from cell phone use! The WHO is not your "nanny", and neither is the government. Quit watching television, reading papers and going on line, you aren't mature enough for reality yet!

It takes time to do a long term study and cell phones have only been used on a regular basis for about 20 years. They have also undergone many changes in that amount of time. Several studies have shown it could be possible. I doubt the risk will be as high as it is for smoking. When it’s all said and done it will probably be found that the number of hours you spend on the phone and the age in which you started will be the biggest factors. A neurosurgeon I work with who is world renowned and very well respected said a couple of years ago he believes it is more likely to cause damage to young people and he recommended they use wired headsets.

I was looking up this story online and I found a website called Radiation Research. They have a report on their website from the International EMF Collaborative entitled "Cellphones and Brain Tumors: 15 Reasons for Concern, Science, Spin and the Truth Behind Interphone". You might find the report interesting. I did. Also, I included a link from the Telegraph of advice on cell phones for other countries including the United States.

its only common sense when a radiation beam is blasting thru ur brain everytime u use one. how could you not know?

I question the cell phone theory. My neuro oncologist, radiation oncologist, and neuro surgeon all question it. They think it's flawed. I'm curious as to what tumor types they believe are linked with cell phone usage. I also question how long their study was in the field and who did the study?
