Deodorant and cancer?

Does anyone else think that breast cancer is caused by deodorant?

  • I have thought about this alot and because the skin around your breasts is quite thin all those aluminium particles must get absorbed and mutilated by your mammary glands/cells.

  • Answer:

If it were as simple as that, deoderant wouldnt be on sale.

Numerous medical studies have failed to find a connection. Also, deodorant contains aluminum ions that are already chelated, so they're not going to react in your body. I don't think the molecules are absorbed by the body anyhow.

There is a lot more to it than that. There are deoderants on the market for people who have misgivings like yourself, but if that was a definite cause, there would be far more women (and men) with it than there already are. Have just been to a breast clinic and the only questions were about previous breastfeeding, my current menstrual cycle, age and family history.

Wouldn't you see an awful lot of armpit cancer as well???

This is one of the biggest urban legends regarding cancer. There has NOT been one real study to link deodorant to any kind of cancer!!!!!

Hey good research. i think you might be on to something. What you saying makes a lot of sense. deodorant could be related to breast cancer. Now, keep this to yourself until you can tell someone important so you can get the research started on it.

I've heard about this too, I think other people have suspected this too... Someone who's written a comment above said if they knew this they wouldn't be allowed to sell it? I don't agree with this comment because it is a well know fact that some carcigenics (which cause the disease) are in lipsticks and even in toothpaste, and they've not done anything about this...Sure its been in the news and spoken about, but no action has been taken....

Although I see your thinking, I haven't seen any evidence to support this theory unfortunately.

there has been no scientific facts to prove this its caused by a wide range of factors
