Henna powder ?

How to use henna and or indigo powder to dye gray roots dark dark brown?

• I currently have permanent dye in my hair and it is a very dark brown color. I have grays coming in and the roots and would like to match the gray roots to my dark brown hair but no longer wish to use chemical hair dye. How can I do this with Henna and or indigo but not get black or red hair? Do I henna the grays first so they turn orange and then indigo and if so how long? Any technique advice would help. (Real henna without metallic or salts will not make processed dyed hair green fyi)
