Is this a triphasic chart?

BBT Chart - Dip on 03DPO & Triphasic after 06DPO?

  • As per fertility friend I ovulated around 17CD. On 20CD (03DPO) temperature dropped below cover line. Since 23CD (06DPO) my temperature rising & I think it's a triphasic chart. http://www.fertilityfriend.com/ttc/index.php?d=2012-03-10 I'm having little tingling in my lower abdominal area & legs sometimes. Could I be pregnant? Anyone had implantation dip at 03DPO & ended up been pregnant?

  • Answer:

3 dpo is too early for implantation and 6 dpo is too early for a triphasic pattern to begin. Daily temperature fluctuations are normal. Try not to read too much into them. Everyone has a different pattern - some charts will spike up after ovulation and stay the same, other charts will show a slow rise, others will bounce around quite a bit from day to day. The "implantation dip" in temps that many women refer to is actually a temp dip caused by a secondary estrogen surge around the middle of the luteal phase (5-7 dpo) and is not actually related to implantation at all. This secondary estrogen surge is normal and can often be seen in non-pregnant cycles also. My point is, your temps won't tell you anything about a possible pregnancy before a home pregnancy test will. If your temps remain elevated for 18+ days after ovulation, that is a good sign, but you can start testing at 14 dpo and get an accurate result with a urine test. The two week wait sucks, but there's a reason its called a "wait" - you just have to wait it out. Good luck!
