How much would it cost to run a small farm?

I want to open a horse farm, how do i make a profit in this economy?

• I want to open a horse farm and board a couple of horses on my property. For now they will be pasture boarded with run in sheds. Im trying to figure up how much it cost to feed them per month. as well as other care needed and start up cost. (like how much id have to pay for needed items before i even allowed horses to come to my property.)and also if you have enough grass in the fields do you still need to give them hay daily. i believe you do but i'm just curious about others opinions on it. i have owned horses before but i was younger and i wasn't the one paying the bills. The economy has gotten so rough now, and opening a business is a scary endeavor. so if maybe someone has experience in boarding horses in this economy and how to make it work, you could give me some advice? this is just my starting plan to help save for what i want to do later. its really a dream of mine to open a stable. please give me what ever advice you can. I really want to do this, but i also want to do it right. thank you.

  it depends on how many horses will be boarding 5 or 6 feed will probably be 200-300 dollars a month i am overestemating a little but not much i would charge 295 a month for boarding, i know it isnt much but the less you charge the more people you are likely to get needed items would be halters leads muckbucket pitchfork saddles bridles girths saddle pads wither pads grooming stuff bell boots splint boots blankets fans clippers they do need hay at least once a day like a flake or so per horse
