How do I get my horse to trust and respect me?

I want to try to get my horse to trust me...? Read description?

• Well, 1st off it's not MY horse but to write quicker I will say it's mine, it's shorter than having to keep saying ' the horse I ride' So: I go to a private horse riding place where you can't jump or gallop. There are NO poles or arenas because we ride out on the road. Because of this I can't do what I want to do. But I just watched some really sweet natural horsemanship vids of stuff like people with their arms out running to scare their horses around an arena and then the horse starts following them. I found this SO sweet. I want to try this with the new horse I ride, but I'm not sure my riding instructor will let me, how could I go about this? By the way: I've been riding for 6 years :)

  You cannot just have a go at natural horsemanship - if you don't know what your doing it can really mess the horse up. Also It's not your horse - so you would have to get permission from the owner. you would also need a school to do this in a schoo;..which you don't have. so ask your mum to let you spend time grooming and helping out around the yard. If she won't let you because she picks you up/drops you off, get a bike and cycle to the yard..if that's not an option ask your mum if you work around the house (hoovering, general chores) if she would let you stay at the yard for another hour? Your instructor bought you a horse?? and only you ride it for one hour?? either your lying or your instructor is...no one would spend money buying and keeping a horse so you can use it for one hour a week. Go to a proper riding school, they will teach how to ride any horse.
