Do riding gloves keep your hands warm or are they just for grip?
-
My hands are starting to get really cold when I'm riding and I'm thinking about getting some gloves, do they help with keeping your hands warm? Are they worth buying? No one else wears them in my lesson. Sorry if this sounds like a stupid questions.

Answer:
Definantly worth buying! They are good for both :) They aren't a lot of money, but they aren't cheap. Riding gloves like these, can be used in all weather and are nice: http://www.doversaddlery.com/ssg-all-weather-riding-gloves/p/X1-39039/cn/29/ They are really good for riding, easier to grip the reins and keep your hands warm :)

there are certain pairs out there that are really awesome for warmth when riding. I don't wear gloves for grip, I actually find that they are worse for grip... I wear them for warmth and style (I have to in shows and lessons.) if you get the right pair, they are worth buying and should last you a couple years. the leather insulated ones are warm and comfy. there are certain thick threaded cotton type gloves that are also super strong, warm and comfortable. SSG is a great brand but sells around 30-45$.
For me yes they keep them warm. They're also to avoid sores and stuff :)
They do stop them cold They stop you getting blisters in the summer if it's really hot Get ones with grips They don't usally coat that much :)
Obviously, yes. They do help to keep your hands warm. Some more than others due to the brand and materials. I use one pair of gloves for EVERYTHING. Riding, working around the stable or elsewhere, lunging, etc. Gloves are the handiest things ever.
yes. They do both. But you really only need them for grip if its cold or the reins get wet from rain or sweat.
Definitely get gloves. Some aren't that warm, but they still keep your hands from freezing and from sores. And most provide grip, too.
They keep your hands warm and prevent blisters so you can grip the reins.
Well, you can get insulated gloves, but even a plain old riding glove will provide a degree of protection from exposure to cold. My favorite type of riding glove is actually a nitrile glove. It allows for dexterity and grip and while thin, the coating prevents any heat from escaping. You can get them at any hardware store and they are cheap.
