What is the ideal conformation for a jumper?

My quarter horses conformation?

    His conformation's not bad, definatley not bad. It's OK, tbh. I really don't like the way his back ties into his hindquarters, or his neck (I think he might be underdeveloped on his topline, but I could just be wrong). He's got good pasterns, and his back seems good. His back legs are a little straight (but that could just be me, he's at kind of a weird angle). I could tell you more about his legs if he was squared up. But he seems like a good horse. Every horse CAN jump :D. I don't think he'll ever be a top Grand Prix showjumper, but he can probably do 2'-3' just fine! He's got a cute face, but you might want to work on getting more topline muscling. Hope this helps! Good conformation no, really bad conformation no, he is an average looking Quarter Horse. He is a bit down hill which is normal for a Quarter Horse and as a rule this type of Quarter Horse does not make good jumping horses. If you want a really good opinion on conformation take at least 4 photos of the horse, one from each side showing all of the horse, and one from the front end and the rear end.

Well he sure is cute. Well ask the breeder or previous owner. look at show records. Jumpers need strong back legs and hindquarters. Ask about health and age. also ask if he was trained to jump and if he isn't that is a problem. and also if he is a dressage horse he most likely isn't a good jumper.

If he has a good trainer, I think he could be a GREAT jumper! He has the stature, and he looks very powerful and beautiful! Any horse can be a jumper, but he looks great! You are very lucky!

So cute!!! How old? I think that he would make a great hunter/ jumper. He has well built legs for it. With consistent training and a persistent riding, you guys could be great!
