What is the name of the song and artist, alternative type slower song?

  • looking for the song from a couple of years ago, kind of reminds me of a "snow patrol chasing cars" kind of song. Can't remember specific lyrics but seems that the theme is about a girl dying, maybe suicide?, a guy is singing about not going to her funeral, I think, but listening to a tape that she had made. For some reason, sitting on the hood of a car comes to mind also. Has been driving me crazy, can't remember song or artist or even lyrics. No search engine on the net has been helpful or even looking at top 100 song lists over the last several years. PLEASE HELP! :)
