How to find underground / unknown bands ?

Try just browsing around on MySpace music and listening to a bunch of bands until you find one you like. Then you can look at their friends or related bands and keep browsing.

your going for the ''its cool to like underground'' stuff? alright fair enough i'm guessing you are young. well least you have taken a step towards better taste, 99% of radio music is pretty damn terrible. people generally say ''nowdays music sucks'' there are decent bands but they are underground, they will be the ones that will be remembered. eh okay well generally i would suggest going to concerts, but if that is too much for you try browsing on the likes of limewire HOWEVER buy the small time artists albums. otherwise your just being a d*ck & robbing from a band that isn't pulling in thousands of euro/dollars. also look at your favourtie bands influences, this will lead you back into music in the 70s+ & you will find some decent stuff there. i will post some links, generally i stay away from what that first answer said ie all time low, paramore, blink 182. that to me is mererly teen bands, it aint music.
