Any tips for learning the bass?

  • I want to learn how to play the bass guitar alright in a short time, any tips for learning fast.

    Best way is to get a teacher so you learn correct technique. The worst thing is handicapping yourself by trial and error and later having to go back and unlearn things you did wrong. Also, practice slowly and correctly 15 minutes a day. Sloppy noodling around for 2 hours doesn't accomplish anything. Work on parts at half speed, get them perfect and then move onto the next part or exercises. Make sure you are comfortable with them and slowly speed them up. Don't use a metronome at first. Make sure you have the part or exercise down first. Bring the metronome in to work on timing once you have everything else down.
