I have discovered an unsigned band that I really believe in, how do I help them?

I have recently discovered an unsigned band that I think are AMAZING! These guys should be signed and in the charts without a shadow of a doubt and I truly believe if the right people hear them, they will be. I want to help them as much as I can, but I know nothing about the music industry. They gig quite a bit but I am well aware they need to gig a hell of a lot more. What can I do to help them? Does anybody have any ideas or know anything about promoting new artists that can give me an idea or what steps to take next? Thanks

They need a website of their own, a Facebook page and they need to get as many gigs and as much exposure as possible. So if you can help them with web pages or bookings, do that. Not just at clubs, but also festivals, fairs and community outdoor concerts. They need demo CDs and also radio station play time. Try college campus stations. Once they get bookings, you will want to help them promote the dates with publicity, set up interviews, etc.

First if they gig out a lot... they've already got a reputation as being a decent band. There is a big difference between being a cover band and coming up with stuff that is commercially viable. It's not your job as a FAN to help them "break in to the big time" - but your could encourage them to talk with a promoter to get them bigger venues. You also could - with their permission - start a WEBSITE for promotion and perhaps record some VIDEOS of the group... doing some of their best numbers and putting them on YOUTUBE. Remember "America's got Talent" accepts entries from YOUTUBE. Finally - might you have an ulterior motive here? Are you sweet on the DRUMMER? Do you think that if you can help him to the top... maybe he'll take you with him... as his bride?
