Where do I find free music that is legal in the states?

I'm famous on YouTube. How do I sell my music to Barnes & Noble?

  • One of my songs has 12,000,000 views on YouTube. I am a professional musician. I professionally compose and professionally record my own original music. I want to sell my music CDs to Barnes & Noble so that my CDs will show up in their music stores all across the United States. How do I go about doing this? I know absolutely nothing about the music business or publishing or "record labels" or "order fulfillment" or "dropshipping". My knowledge is zero. Nada! I've already got my eye on a reputable CD manufacturing company who will design and package my CDs in jewel cases for me for about $1 per disc. But where do I go from there? Who do I call to sell my music CDs to? Do I call the CEO of Barnes & Noble? Do I call Customer Service? Do I call Investor Relations? And then where do I go from there so that my CDs appear on the shelves of Barnes & Noble's music stores? Do I need to hire a company that has lots of trucks to distribute my CDs to all of B&N's stores? How does it all work? For example, does the CD manufacturing company send me 5,000 copies of my CD to my house? And then do I hire a truck company to send a truck to my house? And then do I put all 5000 CDs on that truck? Or just 500? If just 500, do they send 9 more trucks? Do I put 500 more CDs on each of those 9 trucks? Do those trucks then go driving around America dropping off my CDs at various Barnes & Noble stores nationwide? Oh yeah, what are those bar code stickers for? I know they're for scanning. The cashier always scans those bar code sticker thingies whenever I check out with a music CD or book at Barnes & Noble. Do I need one of those? How do I make them? Do I need to find yet another company who makes bar code stickers? And besides just scanning them so that the price of the CD shows up at the cash register's screen so that the customer can know how much money to pay for the CD, is the purpose of the bar code also to track sales? If so, how do I access the sales information for my music CDs? Does Barnes & Noble have a "musician log-in" or "author log-in" area on their website? Or will Barnes & Noble send me a monthly statement in my mail showing me how much money I've earned from selling my CDs? How does it all work?

If you are as popular as you think you are why don't you sell your songs on iTunes? At least you'll won't have to give up big percentage of the sales to that record label. Or you could try contacting another famous YouTuber, Tyler Ward, he's an independent label, singer-song writer and has signed up a lot of other YouTubers. He's a clever kid! Has millions of followers. You would be exposed to millions of people who love to bus their music from iTunes.
