I need tips on writing a good song?

it should come from the heart. what make you happy, sad, angry, neutral, or a boy, a friend, possibly an inspiration

Write about your life and your experiences.

i have written many many songs and play guitar as well so it is something i spend a lot of time doing. i have found it is so much easier to wriite about a feeling or idea... or rather something you feel STRONGLY about, in my case a frined leaving for iraq. using metaphors ("the sky was crying" vs. just "raining") makes the song more interesting to listen to and pick up. the bottom line is to write what you feel. if you are angry, make a crazy rock-style song. if you are sad, perhaps a slow, acoustic one. And dont listen to what people have to say about your writings. they belong to you, so make them the way you want. Good luck! :]

like someone said some music comes from the heart, how you feel, whats happening around you, feelings, it could be about a storys i know 1 band who writes there lyrics based on fairy-tales and stuff but anyways yea write lyrics that come from the heart and everything you thoughts

Do something that makes you think or feel something strongly. Love, hate, sadness, joy are all things that can be thought of. Just use something that means a lot for YOU. Not something that is meant for someone else. Only you.

well number one, you can't make a song come to you. sit down and think about whats going on in your life. then through feelings, you should find something.but whatever you do, don't play music, you could copy without noticing.
