Singing from my diaphragm and my throat?

How to sing from my diaphragm and sound less breathy?

  • i think i have improved on singing a lot but i dont think im singing from my diaphragm. i have been singing since i was around 10 and im 14 now. i took lessons for a month but then i quit because my mom thought it was a waste of money. i dont know if im singing from my diaphragm... when i used to sing my throat would hurt afterward but now it doesnt. my singing sounds breathy still like i can hear me taking breaths when i record myself. i have no idea how singing from the diaphragm feels so any help?(:

  • Answer:

It's pretty normal to hear yourself taking breaths when you record. When your throat hurts, it doesn't have anything to do with where you breath to sing. Your throat hurts probably because it was just stressed out. You'll know you're singing from your diaphragm (based on my experience) when your voice is full, and not too thin. (Sorry for that I'm a Filipino and it's a bit hard to express myself in English :)) The voice comes from the diaphragm when you can reach a note you can't reach when you use your nose. :P Hope it helped.:))
