How can i improve my singing?

  • I have an audition for hairspray on thursday and i am trying to sing 'you carnt stop the beat' but i get really out of breath on the song and have to stop in the middle of it, and i keep recording my self and playing back and my voice is not brilliant but probably a bit over average, how can i make my voice stronger? , how can i hold onto notes longer? and i also my voice is quite croaky and it sounds abit odd when im singing what can i do? and is there eny vocal exercises which can help with singing? I am really good at acting and dancing and singing is a bit of a weak point so i need some tipss!! HELP me !!

    first of all you need self confidence. practise with evaluation will make you perfect. try to sing high pitch songs along with audio tape. do breathing exercise. try to hold breath as long as possible and release slowly. choose songs wisely.good luck.

Try and breath from you diaphram instead of your lungs. breath deeper and just keep practising. Also standing straight helps

Your going out of breath and your voice is going croaky because you haven't developed your 'singing' muscles enough, they get stronger the more you practise. Ideally you will need to practise this in more time than you have I'm afraid to say. Word of advise though, always make sure you practise properly, as singing without proper practise will seriously hurt your voice. (Sometimes pernamently)
