How do you train your voice so you sing better?

Is it possible to train your voice to sing better?

  • I really want to become a better singing. It's hard for me to say how bad of a singer I am, but my sister said that I was pretty bad. I'm not planning on becoming a professional, but I just want my voice to improve. Is it possible to train my voice, without professional lessons, to improve. I have been doing exercises on youtube, but can you think of anything else? Or is it just not possible to improve my voice. I wanna prove to my sister that, yes, I CAN carry a tune..lol. ~Thanks!:)

Some people just can NOT sing. I've been told by choir directors and the like that ANYONE can be taught to sing... so you could learn, but if you can't carry a tune naturally, you probably won't be able to sing well, but enough to sing in a large group and not completely destroy the song.
