How to sing better?

How to sing better? :/?

• So I am between the areas of "Can Sing" and "Can't Sing" ya know? Like for some parts in a song I sound pretty good, but in others I sound horrible. :/ I want to know how to sing better because most of my friends can sing pretty good and I'm the odd ball out. But this isn't the main reason; I just want to know how to so I can sound better when I sing in front of people, ya know? Also, how much is singing lessons around? Because if it isn't too much, I'd definitely would want to talk to my parents about getting me into some lessons. Thanks!! :)

  film yourself singing. then watch it over and see what you can do and where your rough patches are. the reason i am telling you to film yourself is because when you sing you hear yourself singing differently than other people do. keep practicing, make sure you warm up, drink tea and nothing to cold, don't drink soda. these can hurt your vocal cords and make you sound worse. also give yourself a break so you don't hurt your voice.
