How do you find your singing voice?

Sing what you love, and sing it with passion. If you've not done much singing before, then perhaps it would be a good exercise to start off trying to emulate your favourite singers and if you find that feel comfortable singing that way, you can practise and practise and find your own style. It's also a good exercise to listen to singers from all musical genres and singing in a multitude of ways, so that you don't just end up being a carbon copy of some other singer and have other people hear you sing, just to call you a poser or something. That's how I found my own singing voice. I started off by studying and copying one singer, then I expanded my vocal study onto other singers until I figured out a comfortable way to make my voice consistent with all styles. It might take years, but I doubt if there's a faster way. You should never try to learn anything too quickly anyway - people who spend more time on things tend to have a deeper skill than those who "crash-course" stuff, because you have longer to get to know all aspects of what you're doing. Just don't attempt to sing in a way that hurts your vocal chords, otherwise you will significantly risk any singing potential that you have. Good luck and, most importantly - Have fun!
