I have a question about increasing my chest vocal range?

'Chest voice' is a hard term to understand. It is a somewhat outdated term as it is not anatomically correct. We now refer to 'chest voice' as thick folds (there are other terms used but this is my preferred term). The way to create lower pitches is to thicken the vocal folds when singing. Inversely, in order to sing higher pitches the vocal folds must thin down which is why we call 'head voice', thin folds. In order for you to sing in 'chest voice' you must be able to stay on thicker folds as you pitch raises. It is the same as an elastic band. Everyone can stretch the band (thin folds) and then let it go (thick folds). The hard part is making that transition gradual. Transitioning gradually (mix voice) requires a very fine motor control, which is only developed over time and practice. Your larynx/vocal folds also grow in relation to the rest of your body. As you mature they get bigger in mass. So basically, if the vocal folds are increasing in mass as you mature, they are getting thicker, making thick folds (chest voice) much easier to achieve. You surrounding muscles also increase in size and strength making thick folds much easier to maintain.
