Can you significantly increase the vocal range of your chest voice?

Vocal Chest Range and Head Voice?

  • I'm a 16 year old guy i do have my adult voice i think (hasn't made ANY change since i was 13 at least, probably a little younger, if anything its gone up) and i'm a tenor. I was curious if my voice was low for a tenor, normal for a tenor, or high for a tenor. My speaking voice is about a D3. My chest range goes from Bb2 up to F4 but i've brought it up to G#4 before. My head voice can go down to a G3, and it goes up to a A#4 or B4 comfortably, and can be pushed to C5 or C#5. Falsetto is irrelevant in this question, but it's from C4 to A#5. What do you think, do i have a low, normal, or high voice for a tenor?

  • Answer:

It honestly depends on how well you can sing that F4. Is it full or are you straining for it? Anyways, assuming you can sing it comfortably I would say that's about normal for a tenor your age.
