How to tell my friend to stop singing all the time?

  • I'm not joking, every time I see her outside of class she is (loudly) singing to herself. She completely ignores everyone and keeps singing. And it's always the same 3 songs that she sings. It is SO annoying. I haven't had a conversation with her in over a month because she doesn't respond to ANYTHING I say, she just keeps singing. When I ask her to stop, she simply rolls her eyes and keeps singing. So then last week I stopped hanging out with her at school because it's just pointless and she got mad and started venting to me over text about how we were "drifting apart" because we never talk in person anymore. Then I explained that we CAN'T talk in person because she DOESN'T talk to me. She didn't text back and the next day at school she did the same thing, she kept singing and didn't talk to me.

Wow. I was prepared to tell you that you shouldn't take her away from her art, but this is crazy. She needs to calm it down. Tell her that her singing is lovely, but if she won't stop to talk to you, then you don't see how you can be friends. Tell her you want to be friends, and ask her to pay attention to you, or you're out. Let her choose between you and her incessant singing.

It sounds very weird. She probably just wants attention. I would just ignore her completely, but I think that you should confront her face to face once and for all.
