What are some good guitar sheet music books?

Why is music theory important?/wil it improve guitar playing?

• I have been playing guitar for like 3 months. all I've been doing is learning some songs by tab, and some chords. I don't really know what to do to improve, because all I'm doing is learning songs at the same level but not improving. would learning music theory help me? and if so how much, and in what ways? I can read sheet music, and know the notes(I don't only just know tab) and that's pretty much all I know. if you know ways to improve please tell me, and also reccomend music theory books good for guitar.

  Well it depends, if u just want to play covers then, u don't have to learn it, but if ur a song writer it's important, it makes it easier to write songs if u know the music theory
