How to sing in higher pitch?

  • Hi I'd really love to have a higher voice as I find when I sing a certain song my voice strains and I can't sing loudly, plus I think my voice sounds croaky/strained. I have tried singing songs lower so I don't strain but I find what happens is when doing this I have to sing other parts lower (which I can't sing well, or just sound plain weird) or I can sing the song but certain parts are too high. Now I could get a singing teacher but here's the things: I'm shy (I don't actually sing in front of people) plus I don't know if my parent would let because it'd be a waste. Now here are some songs I'd like to sing: When I Fall - After School, 8282 - Davichi, etc. Do you have any tips on how to sing higher???

    i say just try different songs or if you really want to sing them try to retrain your voice. also try singing a capella it's easier to hear yourself, but watch your pitch.
