How can I get in the singing business?

How do I get to the next (BIG) step on the acting/singing business?

  • I've been singing since I was 6, and acting since I was 4. I enrolled in several acting classes but have settled into one; and this year I will get enrolled in private singing lessons. OK so not to brag but I'm already REALLY good at both lol. Now I want to share it with the world- you know what I mean, right? Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Miley Cyrus, Sandra Bullock, The Veronicas....yup. Talking 'bout fame here; hehe. (DO NOT TELL ME 'OH HOW CAN YOU LIKE MILEY, HOW CAN YOU WANT TO BE LIKE ANGELINA; I never said I did ok?? I'm just setting examples.) I found a website where I can find agents' phone numbers, but neither of them live where I do and I don't know if my family will be willing to move in order for me to make my dreams come true (my mother strongly disapproves; my dad thinks I'm an OK singer. I don't take their advice anymore because...what do they know, you know?) I really wanna be noticed by someone with power enough to make me LEAP...even if it's on Disney Channel at the beginning idc (DON'T SAY oh why do you wanna screw your life in Disney everyone will hate you 'cause it's NOT true. BILLIONS of people love Disney. Billions of people hate Disney. I wouldn't pay attention to haters they only wanna bring artists down and I couldn't care less about them. And yah but I'm not the kind of person who easily falls into those things...I'm 14 years old and I don't drink even SODA.) ok, THANKS!! :D

  • Answer:

First of all, no talent director wants a pre-madonna. you have to get enrolled in community theatre, acting classes, singing classes, choir, dance team, dance lessons, and when you think you've had enough, push harder. Disney could be a good place to start, but once you're there, no film maker will ever see you as anything more than a cookie cutter kid's star. so ultimately it's playing russian roulette. Take all the drama classes in high school, major in drama or music with a focus on oral performance, or better yet, musical theatre, although the latter is quite selective at most schools. You're right, billions of people love disney, but also, billions of other little girls think they have what it takes and are trying just as hard as you.

If u can sing, why not write some songs and get some gigs? get your name out there and if u can sing like you say u'll b noticed in time.

You can find all the agents you want, but it really depends on what you're looking for and what a future employer is looking for. Keep up the singing and acting. PERSONALLY, I have know a girl who's pursuing music theater roles, has an agent and all that jazz, but she won't get selected because she still has braces. No one will hire a girl with braces, it doesn't fit their image. It's going to be a super long process, nothing will just happen overnight. It's hard work.
