    i know a little bit of both Acting: Make sure you project your voice but not be too loud. Put the character if your shoes and try to be sad or happy and just emotional. Look confidence it doesn't matter if your rubbish if your confident You wont fail even if your crap If your confident you will do great. Singing: Smile when you sing it opens up your voice and lets you project more. Put emotions into your singing and really feel the song pretend your singing to someone and not just singing normally. Make sure you sing from your diaphragm Because you don't want to damage your voice. But over all look confident if your really good but look nervous u loose loads of points if your rubbish but your confident people will like you if you run off stage crying you wont do as well

A simple acting tip is to ensure you stand up straight. As for singing I'd practice doing scales saying "mum". That will give your voice more tone. If your bridges aren't smooth you might want to do scales saying "nay". Also, I'd record your self (audio and video) a lot and take what feedback you can from that on what you can improve on.

Have a friend go with you and go to a very public place - perhaps right down on the main street of your town. Pick a corner - one that is fairly busy, and set up and start singing, have the friend record you on video within range of audio. Why, you may ask. Simply to take you outside your comfort zone, to put you in a very uncomfortable situation and do the very thing you fear. Do it weekly until it is " Show Time," then you will be way less nervous than you would be if you are thrown into that situation and did not take the time to adjust to the known situation that is coming. The video will help you improve your responses to certain circumstances too... use them as your learning tool. you'll be able to see how you have changed from the first video to the sixth one, for example.
