I have problems with singing correctly. What can I do?

What causes voice and singing problems around the upper arch of my throat?

  • my voice is always getting caught up around the area in my throat and nose meet and just slightly below. is that the pharynx? i dont feel any issue with the vocal chords themselves but i cant sing because of this problem area. its always at the belting point as i get to a higher pitch and i can almost never beat the break in my voice. some people have a crystal clear voice that just naturally cuts through the air and sounds perfect. imagine a pipe with a smooth round bend in it. well mine is feels more like a squared corner and it gets stuck at the corner then comes out with a gargle kind of thing and wont go away for belt type of singing. my voice is not crystal clear naturally. its a little muffled and a flat monotone type of voice. can anyone advise of whats up with all that and how i can fix it? i hope i explained that right.

  • Answer:

My dear friend its my suggestion to you to please sing from your stomach and not from the throat. Try this: Take a deep breath and hum while exhaling it. It'll give you an idea of what I'm trying to say. Try to generate that sort of feeling when you sing. Then practise it and you'll realize within a few months a dramatic change in your voice. I hope this solves your riddles. :)
