How can I find a singer for my band?

How do I find a singer for my band?

  • I have a band (bassist, guitarist and drummer) but unfortunately, we do not have singer. We've tried to find one by request of friends and such, but so far nothing has manifested. Any tips?

    Find out which places in your town/city will allow you to advertise. Music stores here let bands post "Wanted" ads in their entrances all the time. Make sure you put the genre of music you perform, whether you're looking for a male/female, a contact name/phone number and how often you rehearse. I know some people also advertise on craigslist or other sites like that.

Not sure of your age, but you can post ads for free at local college campuses. Craigslist is a great place too. There are websites similar to myspace for musicians. I use bandmix.com. You can upload photos, music files and information (what style of music you want to play, who your musical influences are). You can search for musicians by locations, instrument played (vocals) or genre. I recently joined a band this way and it's working out great. Best of all, it's free to join and create a profile. Highly recommend! Also found a UK site called joinmyband. It offers some US searches as well. Haven't used it yet though. I'm sure there are more sites out there dedicated to musicians.
