How can I improve my singing, singing tips please!?

  • please I need some singing tips I Absolutely LOVE singing! I had a solo at a concert at school and people from my class have heard me sing and I have gotton compliments alot, but recently when I hear myself sing I don't really like what I hear and I was wondering if any1 could give me some tips on how to improve my voice. My music teacher says I'm a soprano so I can go pretty high on notes but I know I can a little low. Thanks ALot!!!!

    If you are serious about singing, lessons are a good idea. It helps to get one on one private lessons with a professional. That way, you are able to focus on any of your possible problems nd you are able to learn new things at your own pace. In a choir, the teacher, unfortunately, cannot focus on a person in particular because they are teaching a very large group. Lessons can be expensive, but they are worthwhile if you are serious about singing.

It sounds to me like your a Mezzo Soprano, I sing in my local Opera society, and have been involved with Theatre Company's which has really been a big help from me, and it's free ! But if I was to give any tips its this: Try to relax when going to a higher register. Meaning relax your bottom jaw and you will find you will get better with Vibrato. Breathe deeply to get your lungs working properly before singing, and learn to breathe in the pauses of the music. That way you won't run out of breath.

I would suggest voice lessons. I'm interested in the seth riggs method of speaking level singing.
