Remembering to use diaphragm to sing and how to improve?
-
I always forget to use my diaphragm when singing, so how do i remind myself? And how can you improve singing from your diaphragm?
-
Answer:
Placing your hand on your stomach is always a good reminder. When I sing a difficult part I take a deep breath (expanding), then I press down on my stomach just a little (retracting) to make sure I'm supporting each note with enough air. My teacher told me that the diaphragm is just like a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it gets.
