How can I get permission to use an artists songs multiple times throughout a TV show?

I'm working on this new TV show called "Phenomena" you can check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5ZcoAgAlII&feature=related So as you can see, music will be a huge part of the show. Maybe using a tiny part Miley Cyrus's song is ok ONCE, but I planned on having the theme song, the credits song and all the songs Phenomena "writes" actually be by one band. All I really need is permission to use ANY band with female vocals. It doesn't have to be someone as successful as Miley Cyrus. Please help!

A) you have to pay for it. And ask for permission, some songs are 'public domain' so I would try using public domain which I believe means you can use it. I would search online, there has to be a way for you to get the permission of copyrighted material. Good luck. You my have to do some serious checking around for this. But it will be worth it.

Contact the artist's management company. Anything of this nature will need to have royalty payments issued, unless some other deal can be worked out.
