At what age your voice is fully developed?

Did I wreck my singing voice? Help! :(?

  • I have a fear I might have developed nodes ! I am 14 and have just been singing for 5 months now, I've improved greatly however just recently I learned how to sing better with my diaphragm and also how to not be as barky when singing the high notes. But I am worried because lately my voice has been hoarse and it feels like I need to break through this barrier of "mucus" or something to sing clearly and for a while afterwards my voice is gravely to speak. I do have terrible acid reflex for my age and its been diagnosed mmany times, I've just started to controle it with zantac and better diet, but it worries me that the problem may be more complicated. Please, does this sound like nodes? PS I"m a girl, My range is from the F below middle C to about treble clef B in chest voice (my break) and I can reach a high G in head voice but it is weak up there. is it bad that my break is there? because I've heard many singers who can sing in chest voice around d sharp the octave above middle c but I feel that this "stuff" in my throat doesn't allow my voice to reach any higher (nicely) than B. I am worried it may be nodes because i started practicing with all the wrong technique, yet I've only done it for a few months ... thanks

  • Answer:

Honey, you are FINE. It will go away after a while. Pineapple juice or anything syrupy works wonders. Good luck :3 Not that you'll need it or anything :P
